NICK RONZANI

DOWNHILL-SLALOM-SLIDE-LUGE

Nick Ronzani, started skating when I was 7. Practiced a lot in front of my house. For my 9th Birthday I got my first longboard, a Sector 9 with randal 150s, abec 3 bearings, and some old clear red nineball wheels, I was stoked. The Board basically sat in my garage until I was 13, until my neighbor came over and asked if he could use my board to go down some hills, I tagged along with him and went to some of the local hills in Rocklin, like Thunder Hill, Whitney Blvd, and the Backside of park Dr. At the time, I would skate all these hills with ease and full confidence never having the experience of taking a skateboard down a hill, and before I knew it, I was hitting speeds of 40mph+. A couple of years went by, and I was still practicing all my sliding and downhill speedboarding around town by myself because I had no idea that there were other people in Rocklin who had the same skating interests I had, so I met some of my bros, like Peter Ramirez, Davis Vannasing and others and started skating every single day with them. One fine afternoon, I met Dan Henderson from Tactis Sk8 Shop in a parking lot, he took me to a couple races and let me on the team, he was hooking me up with decks, wheels, trucks, whatever, basically anything I needed to help try my best in any skate event I went to. And now here I am.

Some of my skating accomplishments I'm proud of: 10th place at Cali Outlaw #5 2008; 2008 US National Super G Slalom Junior Champion; 1st Place Junior at Fairfax Bolinas Outlaw 2008; 3 Silver Medals at 2009 Oregon State Slalom Games; 6th Place Juniors Bonelli 2008; 9th Place in Junior2 at MFOS 2009, 40th Place in Open at MFOS 2009, 6th in Juniors at Bonelli 2009, 6th at Berkeley Slope Style 2009. 5th at 12 Mile Norcal Outlaw 2009.

CALVIN STAUB

DOWNHILL

Calvin Staub - I started skating as a kid but never really got good at it.  My neighborhood friend got a longboard and I was stoked on it.  I got a longboard myself and started riding.  After awhile all my friends who longboarded withme stopped doing it and I was left by myself.  I taught myself how to slide and footbreak and after awhile I got better and wated to hit bigger things.  I discovered stuff on the web and was like "I want to do downhill".  I got in contact with some ColoRADo Rippers, started racing and the rest is history.  I'm really grateful of the support my parents give me doing this and I wouldn't be doing this without them backing me.  I met the Tactis Crew at my second race in California in '08.  After Maryhill '09 I did really good, hung out with the guys and was on the team.  Tactis is great and hooked me up with good equipment to keep rollin' good.  My best racing accomplishments are:  Munnsville '08 6th, 1st Amateur; Bonelli '08 3rd Juniors; 1st Squaw Peak Outlaw; 5th Buffalo Bill DH; 17th Maryhill '09, 2nd Juniors; 3rd NOCO OUtlaw; 16th Bonelli '09, 5th Juniors; 2nd Ye Olde Winter Outlaw.  Others:  Favorite board=Deelite Nemisis/Deity Drakkar; Top Speed=66.1 mph; Favorite race=Buffalo0 Bill Downhill, Paskapoo DH Rodeo, Maryhill.
